Safety Resources

  • Blue Envelope Program: Fostering a safer and more understanding environment for drivers with Autism during traffic stops.

  • Project Lifesaver: Search and rescue program using radio technology for individuals with Autism who wander and elope.

State Resources

  • Autism Resource Center: The 7 support centers throughout the state provide an array of services and resources.

  • Massachusetts Act Early Campaign: Massachusetts Act Early aims to educate parents and professionals about healthy childhood development, early warning signs of autism and other developmental disorders, the importance of routine developmental screening, and timely early intervention whenever there is a concern.

  • Massachusetts Early Intervention (EI): EI is a program for infants and toddlers (birth to 3 years old) who have developmental delays or are at risk of a developmental delay.

  • Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE): DESE is the state agency responsible for the supervision of special education services. Website provides resources and educational materials for professionals and families.

  • Department of Developmental Services (DDS): The Department of Developmental Services provides supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder to enhance opportunities to become fully engaged members of their community.

MA Organizations

  • The Insurance Resource Center: Provides resources for consumers, providers, clinicians, employers, and educators on issues related to medical insurance for autism and behavioral treatments.

  • MA Advocates for Children (MAC): MAC is dedicated to removing barriers to educational and life opportunities for all children. Services include educational advocacy, trainings and state policy advocacy.

  • Federation for Children with Special Needs: Provides information, support, and assistance to parents of children with disabilities, their professional partners, and their communities focusing on education and trainings.

  • Family TIES of Massachusetts: It is a program that provides information and training for families of children with special health needs or disability and their professional partners. We are a primary source for information about Early Intervention (EI) and maintain a complete listing of EI programs in MA.
